Macworld ‘07 Marks the Beginning of New Releases for the Year
Tuesday, January 9th, 2007 | Apple News | No Comments
Today was the day anticipated my many in the Apple world. This is the day when Steve Jobs unvales new products and major upgrades during his Keynote address at the Macworld Expo & Conference event in San Francisco.
There were high hopes and expectations for this year’s Macworld keynote address. One of the biggest rumors surrounding this event was the question whether Apple will introduce a mobile phone, which many called iPhone. I am happy to say that the rumors turned out to be true. Steve devoted his entire keynote address to the new iPhone. The iPhone is basically three devises in one - a cell phone, media player and a PDA. To get a more detailed run down on the features of the iPhone visit TUAW.com. In addition, Apple’s own website has been updated with the new product’s information. So, if you’d rather get the info from the hourse’s mouth as it were, head on over to Apple.com.
Even though iPhone was the only product mentioned at the keynote address, Apple introduced a few other newbies today. Today marks the release of Apple TV. Head over to the Apple online store to see the details of this new devise. Its basically an upgraded AirPort that facilitates streaming of media between multiple computers. In addition, Apple introduced yet another Get a Mac ad. Check it out on Apple.com.
There was not mention of Leopard, which was really what I was hoping to hear about. Some expected to hear additional features and a firm release date. Nevertheless, this conference unleashed another series of new releases for this year. And there will be more to come.
Are you planning to get the iPhone when it comes out in June?
Correction: Apple TV is not an upgraded AirPort. AirPort Extreme was upgraded to support the draft n standard. Apple TV is a media streaming devise that streams audio, video and pictures between your computer and your entertainment center.
